I’m Done Being the Manager of This Team!

My name is Sato Mei, and I’m a team manager. Even though I’m only sixteen years old this year, I already have four years of managerial experience.

However, the teams I’ve managed were full of members who didn’t act like normal people. At Teiko Middle School, the basketball team had a few monsters who frequently broke the basketball hoops. At Hyotei Academy, the tennis team caused sand and stones to fly everywhere during friendly matches. I got tired of it, so after entering high school, I decided to stay far away from any sports clubs. But I didn’t expect my childhood friend, who attends a different school, to betray me by signing me up for the volleyball club. In retaliation, I signed him up for a JKDK (Japanese Kids Dance Kompany) club 🙂 During the interview, the captain asked me, “What type of work are you good at?” I responded with a blank expression, “I’m extremely good at writing repair expense forms for sports fields and related equipment.” The captain replied, “…What have you been through?” I said, “The fear and destruction of my youth caused by super basketball and super tennis.”

I had no hopes for the new club, but it turned out to be exactly as the captain described a very ordinary competitive sport. No one here hits devastating spin shots or breaks the net while blocking.

The captain, using the saved funds, secretly bought me milk tea. I asked, “Is this milk tea just for me, or do other team members get it too?” The captain replied, “Of course, it’s just for you because it’s bought with the money saved for you, Honey Melon.” I said, “I’ve told you, my name is Mei, not Honey Melon!”

After joining the new club, I finally experienced what it’s like to have a peaceful yet passionate high school life. But I didn’t expect my two former captains to still want to recruit me back.

The split-personality redhead: I’ll give you money. The grey-haired middle part: I’ll double it. Hmph, these heartless rich kids are cold, but the captain secretly buying me milk tea has a touch of warmth. I like our captain the best!
