June 15th of the Western calendar was the day Xiang Jia planned to die.
Today was the 8th day of the 12th lunar month, which meant there was less than half a year for her to live.
She had enough savings to pay the living expenses for that period of time.
She felt a rare sense of happiness. On the way home after the evening shift, she bought a serving of sweet osmanthus glutinous rice lotus root.
