The Successor of the Saint Does Not Fight

Meril Klein, born as the daughter of the renowned demon exorcist known as the ‘Saint,’ has been hailed since childhood as the “Saint’s successor” and the “rising star of the next generation.”

Growing up in this esteemed environment, Meril developed an arrogant and self-conceited personality. However, during her initial mission confronting a man-eating demon, she became painfully aware of her own lack of power, questioning, “Do I possess any strength at all?”

In the dire situation of facing off against the demon, Meril found a glimmer of hope in the demon’s words: “I haven’t taken anyone’s life.”

“If that’s the case, then let me prove your innocence!”

If the demon hasn’t committed a sin, there’s no reason to engage in combat. Though initially just a ploy to delay the inevitable confrontation, this desperate declaration significantly alters Meril’s destiny.
