The world teeters on the brink of collapse. One day, ordinary humans begin mutating, developing violent tendencies and turning on their own kind. The only force capable of stopping these “Variants” is the Esper Unit, among whom Kang Yu-han and Seo Ji-hyuk stand out as some of the most promising soldiers.

But they’re infamous for another reason too…

Rivals who once fought over a coveted guide, Kang Yu-han and Seo Ji-hyuk are known as mortal enemies who can barely stand to look each other in the eye.

Then, out of the blue, they’re assigned to a critical mission:

“From today, you two will work as the Variant Detection Task Force within the Seoul Center. Find and eliminate the Variants.”

However, Kang Yu-han also receives a covert mission that must be kept from Seo Ji-hyuk at all costs. As it turns out, Kang Yu-han is the only person who can protect Seo Ji-hyuk, a ticking time bomb, from self-destructing.

But Yu-han is determined never to reveal his hidden role as Seo Ji-hyuk’s guide—even if it costs him his life. Nor does he plan to expose the feelings he secretly harbors for him.
